Jamil Alkhatib is an independent consultant in the field of Innovation and Technology Management, Technology Commercialization, Technology Transfer, Change management and Marketing planning. He cooperates with several international institutes specialized in innovation and technology transfer.
He is active in the field of Free Open Source technologies and Technology Transfer and is recognized as one of the worldwide key persons in Free Open Source Hardware and Free Open Source Technology Transfer where he developed the main concepts and provide some consulting and trainings in these fields.
He holds Msc. degree in Technology and Innovation Management from Brandenburg university for Applied science and Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus. Besides that he holds Bsc. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Birzeit university, Palestine.
He is currently working as a Project Manager at the Arab Science and Technology Foundation in UAE and is responsible for planning and establishing a Technology Incubator and support Arab inventors in patenting and commercializing their inventions besides supervising IPR and Technology Transfer contracts.
Jamil has not only experience in Innovation Management, he also worked in the development of innovative Electronics and telecommunication equipment mainly at Siemens since 1998 besides that he has developed several independent software and electronics projects for different customers.
Moreover he established startup company, OpenTechnologies Ltd. in Tunisia for Electronics design development. The company is based on a distinguished business plan qualified in the first Arab students business plan competition.
Jamil is active in NGOs that supports the Technology and Development in the Arab world. He is a Technology commercialization consultant at Alnayzak institute that supports the youth in Palestine to innovate. He is also co-founder of Handasa Arabia organization that has several activities in the Arab region in Electronics and Engineering Management activities and events.
He is responsible for organizing the Made in Palestine competition in cooperation with ASTF and the International Electronics Design Competition for Students in cooperation with Waterloo university and IEEE ICM conference since 2003.
